Building Engineer (Structural & Site Coordination)

Kaislar LTD is expanding rapidly and we are looking for a skilled, motivated Building Engineer to join our team.

This is a hands-on, site-focused role combining structural oversight, technical coordination, and day-to-day support for our fast-paced new build projects.

What This Role Involves

As our Building Engineer, you will:

Structural Oversight & Technical Coordination

  • Assist with setting out, structural layouts, and measurements

  • Liaise with structural engineers and architects to ensure plans are followed correctly

  • Oversee installation of structural steel, Ytong block systems, joists, roof structures, and foundations

  • Ensure all works align with engineering drawings and building regulations

  • Identify technical issues early and propose solutions

  • Support with structural inspections and quality control

On-Site Project Support

  • Work closely with site managers to coordinate trades and daily activities

  • Monitor progress on site and ensure key milestones are met

  • Assist with planning sequences for piling, steelwork, blockwork, roofing, and internal construction

  • Help ensure materials arrive on time and are used efficiently

  • Support logistics and site organisation to maintain build speed and safety

  • Communicate with subcontractors and ensure work meets Kaislar standards

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Perform regular site checks to ensure workmanship meets structural and safety standards

  • Verify compliance with building regs, drawings, and specifications

  • Prepare technical notes, progress records, and site reports

  • Ensure any deviations or issues are documented and escalated to management

  • Participate in inspections with local authorities and building control

Client & Management Support

  • Occasionally meet clients on site to explain build progress and technical aspects

  • Work alongside the director and QS team during key construction phases

  • Ensure technical clarity between design teams, site teams, and management

  • Provide input on design practicality, engineering solutions, and buildability

Requirements

We’re looking for someone who is:

Education / Certifications

  • Degree or relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering, or similar

  • CSCS card required

  • Additional training (SMSTS, First Aid, temporary works, etc.) is a plus

Experience

  • 2+ years experience in structural or general construction engineering

  • Strong understanding of residential builds, including foundations, steel frames, blockwork, roof structures, and internal fit-out

  • Experience interpreting architectural and engineering drawings

  • Strong problem-solving skills — able to think quickly on active sites

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

  • Detail-oriented, with a passion for high-quality workmanship

  • Able to work independently and support multiple site teams

  • Comfortable working outdoors and in fast-paced environments
