Full-Time | New Build Sites | Surrey & South-West London
Kaislar LTD is expanding and looking for a dedicated Health & Safety Officer to support our fast-growing portfolio of high-end residential new build projects.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys being on active construction sites, ensuring compliance, supporting site teams, and maintaining the highest safety standards every day.
You will be the go-to person for all site safety matters - from inductions and audits to documentation and training - working closely with project managers, engineers, and the company director.
As our Health & Safety Officer, you will:
Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly H&S inspections
Ensure full compliance with CDM regulations on all sites
Conduct site inductions for all workers and subcontractors
Monitor housekeeping, PPE usage, and safe working practices
Perform risk assessments and site-specific method statements
Identify and report hazards, unsafe behaviour, and compliance issues
Ensure emergency procedures and first aid arrangements are in place
Stop unsafe works immediately where necessary
Create and maintain all H&S documentation:
RAMS
Site reports
Tool-box talks
Accident/incident records
COSHH assessments
Prepare H&S files for each project
Keep management updated with detailed safety reports
Work with engineers and QS team to ensure safety compliance in planning and execution stages
Deliver tool-box talks and safety briefings to site teams
Promote a culture of proactive safety awareness
Ensure subcontractors meet Kaislar’s H&S standards
Support the onboarding of new team members on safety expectations
Assist in developing and improving internal health & safety systems
Work closely with:
Site Managers
Project Managers
Structural Engineers
QS Team
Provide safety advice during project planning and design reviews
Ensure site safety aligns with build stages (piling, steelwork, blockwork, roofing, etc.)
Support the director with safety compliance for clients, insurers, and regulatory bodies
We’re looking for someone who is:
NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or working towards it)
CSCS card required
Strong understanding of CDM 2015 regulations
Experience in residential construction preferred
2+ years of experience in Health & Safety within construction
Confident carrying out site audits and writing safety reports
Able to communicate clearly with site teams and senior management
Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills
Ability to remain calm, assertive, and solution-focused in fast-paced environments
Proactive, hands-on, and not afraid to walk the site
Approachable but firm when needed
Strong leadership and communication skills
A genuine passion for maintaining safe working environments
